Is wrist pain always wrist pain?

For most patients, the most important issue is finding out the root cause of their wrist pain, which doesn’t necessarily originate in the wrist. Wrist pain may be a symptom of an injury somewhere else in your hand, elbow, arm or sometimes even your neck.

Wrist pain frequently occurs from falling on an outstretched hand, sometimes referred to as a FOOSH injury. As you land, your hand, wrist and elbow take the direct impact of your fall and may cause any number of injuries. If there is this kind of an injury, it is important to find a sports chiropractor right away to get an accurate diagnosis and treat your wrist to ensure proper healing and a quick recovery.

The sports chiropractors at Premier Sports & Spine Center are specifically trained to diagnose and treat the soft tissue injuries and joint injuries that may be causing your wrist pain – even if it is coming from your hand, elbow, arm or neck.

In some cases, chiropractic treatment may be all you need for your wrist pain. In other situations, you may need a combination of imaging, soft tissue work, and even Kinesio tape or a brace. It is imperative to have your wrist professionally diagnosed and treated.
